Facing a blind mirror I close weary eyes.
Touch softly skin deep scars
on a face that life nibbles away
like oceans to dunes.
Confidence is nothing but a lying cacoon.
Fantasies; idealistic acquiescence rust,
who some slumber in, to avoid reality's dust.
Sick of words that protect me,
illusive walls so looks won't affect me.
Remember self-esteem is our own child.
Despise and rant at my face,
pray for beauty.
God.... erase and replace....
please....
